It’s A Heart And Mouth Connection

Reason #7: You can count it all joy because the faith in your heart is greater than the questions in your mind!

True story: I used to beat myself up whenever my “head” contradicted my heart! This internal tug-of-war would inevitably leave me feeling as though I was “double-minded” which is not pretty.

The fact is that you can have a conviction in your heart but still struggle with thoughts of fear and doubt in your head. It happens to all of us. But, the Bible is very clear stating that “a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways” (James 1:8 NKJV).

Thus our goal is simple: aim to become “single-minded!” How might we do that?  Well, one key is to let your heart persuade your head.  Do this by confessing with your mouth what you believe in your heart and allow yourself to be persuaded that God will deliver on His promises.

The following meditation can be used for reflection and recitation along your path to single-mindedness:

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth,

That the Word of the Lord is true.

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth,

And banish every form of fear and doubt.

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth,

I rely upon Jehovah to work everything out.

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth,

For that is what faith is really all about.
