Faith Has A Reward

Reason # 9

You can count it all joy because your faith will be rewarded!

He had no natural reason to believe God for he was a 100 years old and his wife Sarah’s womb was already dead! Yet God gave Abraham a promise that He would give him a son and make him the father of many nations. That promise sounded so ridiculous in the natural that Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my Lord being old also?” Genesis 18:12 (NKJV)   Nevertheless, Abraham believed God and the bible said that God rewarded his faith with Isaac the Son of promise.

Has God made any promises to you that make you want to laugh out loud? Listen to His response to Sarah’s question. “And the Lord said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying shall I surely bear a child, since I am old? Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time, I will return to you, According to the time of life and Sarah shall have a son. (Genesis 18:13-14)

God has an appointed time to bring to pass His promises in your life. So do not focus on the barren areas that you see. While you are waiting on your promise to be fulfilled continue to obey Him in the big as well as the little things. Below are a few do’s and don’t that will help you as you wait.

Live from your spiritual position and not your natural condition:

  • Do not focus on what your five senses tell you.
  • Read, study, meditate and confess the Word of God as truth.
  • Refuse to let fear, doubt and unbelief rob you of God’s greater blessings
  • Instead of complaining, honor God by praising Him for His Love, grace, mercy, goodness and faithfulness.
  • Above all, wait upon the Lord and be fully persuaded that in due time, He will deliver on His promises just like He did for Abraham who is the Father of our faith.

  1. I count it all joy today for I thank God for this blog. It is one of Truth and revelation for God’s people. It brings joy to the spirit-man when the flesh tends to be distracted. It brings one right back to the WORD which is a stabilizer. Thank you Joyce for this ministry of the Word and the example of His faithfulness, mercy and grace. It is what I need in these troubled times.

    • His Word is truth, it is life and medicine to all of our flesh!

  2. Thanks for the encouragement!!! Especially when a long amount of time goes by we can begin to let doubt creep into our mind, at least I find that to be so for myself, and I begin to be more diligent to speak God’s Word out of my mouth

    • Thank you Gail for your comments. I think all believers can identify with you. The key as you have said is to remain steadfast in your confession of God’s Word no matter how long it takes.

  3. I have a bad habit of growing inpatient when I am waiting for a word from My Father. I always think of ” Count it all Joy” because it gives me the grace to wait.

    • When we allow it patience has a way of maturing and perfecting us. We can all grow up spiritually by exercising the the fruit of patience.
