Follow Me.

I am amazed that people can post all kinds of unsightly images and vulgarity on social media and still get a large following and hundreds of Likes! Yet, I have noticed that when it comes to sharing the message of ‘JESUS’ some people will either close their eyes, make rude comments, start an argument or simply have no response at all.
I find it very interesting that Jesus lives, but He does not have a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account! He does not even have a Like or React to button! However, He did say to His disciples, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.” Matthew 4:19-20 NKJV. The focus here was not really on Jesus wanting a following, but rather on Him seeking for the souls of men that still needed to be rescued from a dark and fallen world.
When we choose to follow Jesus, we will take on His very Likeness and Character. We will then do what He does and we will say what He says. In following Him, we will no longer have to seek for man’s affirmation and approval. It will no longer matter how many Likes or dislikes we get on social media. We will no longer be consumed with ourselves and we will no doubt end up losing our own inflated egos. No longer will we be like the blind leading the blind. But when we truly choose to follow Jesus, He becomes our way, our truth, and our life. And no one can ever come to God the Father except through Him. John 14:6 NKJV
