I am on Day # 60 of my 100 Days Challenge of Counting It All Joy, and it is Independence Day!

I am Counting It All Joy today as I Celebrate Independence Day. For I realize that I am living in a Country where I can experience certain rights and privileges but never without taking responsibility and accountability. Independence is not my license to say or do whatever I please. It is rather a sober reminder and a charge to maintain the principles upon which our Nation was built. “We hold these truths to be self- evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life,liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Declaration of Independence as originally written by Thomas Jefferson, 1776, ME 1:29 Papers 1:315 

The idea of this basic principle of equality was never intended to change between Then and Now! Merriam Webster dictionary defines the word Unalienable as ” impossible to take away or give up.” So as we gather all across this nation to celebrate this special holiday, let us remember the heart and words of our founding fathers. Let us endeavor to never oppress or take away basic human rights. Let us walk in love with one another. Let us pursue peace. But above all, let us daily use our freedom to serve humanity and always do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
