God Bless America.

The words of the American Constitution are beautiful when read in it’s unvarnished state. “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness-”

🇺🇸Let us not change the interpretation.

🇺🇸Let us honor the founders who drafted the Declaration of Independence.

🇺🇸Let us endeavor to love one another.

🇺🇸Let us use our freedom not to harm, but for the good of society.

🇺🇸Let us pledge to honor and preserve freedom and true Liberty for all people.

I know that in the eyes of God we are all created equal. The Declaration of Independence even reinforces that belief! But hatred and prejudice has often left us feeling like we don’t belong. As a mother, I had to teach all of my children about the Beatitudes, such as saying hello, be kind and be polite. However, when it came to my Son, I had to teach him about survival skills as a black man in our society. The struggles that we experience ever day as a black family are very real! So for those who feel that we should be silent and tolerate the killings and injustices that we have been seeing and hearing from coast to coast, let me say this, “It is not real to you because it is not happening to you.” For only the heart knows it’s own sorrow.” Proverbs 14:10

Real life lessons that I had to teach my Son ……


                 ~SON BEWARE~

Putting your hands in your pocket, 

Could deem you a threat;

And arguing with the cops can lead to regret.

Standing up for your rights can land you in the slammer,

And fighting your way out will take more than a hammer.

Walking with your pants sagging,

Will set the tongues wagging,

Not getting an education will leave you behind,

And just remember,

That what your parents has accomplished;

You can never call mine.

I am on Day # 60 of my 100 Days Challenge of Counting It All Joy, and it is Independence Day!

I am Counting It All Joy today as I Celebrate Independence Day. For I realize that I am living in a Country where I can experience certain rights and privileges but never without taking responsibility and accountability. Independence is not my license to say or do whatever I please. It is rather a sober reminder and a charge to maintain the principles upon which our Nation was built. “We hold these truths to be self- evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life,liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Declaration of Independence as originally written by Thomas Jefferson, 1776, ME 1:29 Papers 1:315 

The idea of this basic principle of equality was never intended to change between Then and Now! Merriam Webster dictionary defines the word Unalienable as ” impossible to take away or give up.” So as we gather all across this nation to celebrate this special holiday, let us remember the heart and words of our founding fathers. Let us endeavor to never oppress or take away basic human rights. Let us walk in love with one another. Let us pursue peace. But above all, let us daily use our freedom to serve humanity and always do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
